Eurofly offers a spectacular $399 round-trip airfare between New York and Rome, Naples, Palermo, or Bologna, with Eurofly waving the $320 round trip fuel surcharges. Last fall when my companion Susan and I ventured to Italy for our tour of Abruzzo and Tuscany, we throughly investigated all the airfare options and one that stood out, as I would be connecting through New York from Los Angeles, was Eurofly. At the time they were offering a $599 round trip fare between New York JFK and Rome's Fumicino Airports. Even better than that, we were able to snag a pair of business class seats for under $1,000 each. This year, in spite of relentlessly high prices on most trans-Atlantic routes, Eurofly, in an apparent effort to build market share, is offering fall/winter fares on a limited number of seats between New York and Rome, Naples, Palermo, or Bologna now through September 30. Combined with the Abruzzo Fiat 500 tour, an Italian vacation to remember, especially for couples that are vintage gear heads, has never been more affordable.
Originally a three-day program, the program is now being offered through the end of the month. This fare is available from November 1 until December 16, and from January 6 to March 15. If you've accumulated three week's vacation time, you can spend the entire holiday season in Italy. Here are the departure dates available to all four cities.
There's a direct link from the Eurofly home page to book these fares. If you can't book a flight on the web, call Eurofly directly Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM EDT at 800-459-0581. Not only is Eurofly offering these stand alone flight bargains, they also are offering a $599 air-and-land package this winter to Rome without any booking restrictions. At a price much lower than anyone else is charging for airfare alone, Eurofly's twice weekly flight to Rome will also put you up for four nights at a standard Rome hotel, at any time between October 28 and March 30, with the exception of the Christmas holiday period. For the air-and-land package you'll need to pick up the phone and call Club ABC, the tour operator handling these arrangements for Eurofly, at 800/459-0619. All-in-all, it seems that between these exceptional airfares and great automotive-flavored packages from suppliers like Club ABC and Your Friend in Italy, there's never been a better time, the dollar be damned, to visit Italy. |
