2012 Hyundai Genesis

I encountered three of the mid-cycle refresh Genesis luxury sedans. Hyundai's current top U.S. model will get a nose job and a tummy tuck at the rear. Read about the shoot in Spied: 2012/13 Hyundai Accent/Verna, 2012 Hyundai Genesis, and Ram 1500 2-Mode Hybrid.

Spied: 2011 Ford Fiesta Sedan--US Version
Written by Rich Truesdell

Automotive Traveler magazine contributor Mark Fletcher shows why it's always a good idea to keep your camera by your side as you never know when you'll encounter a camouflaged prototype, in this case the US-spec version of Ford's upcoming 2011 Fiesta.

2011 Ford Fiesta Sedan Rear View While we know that the Ford Fiesta is coming to the North America next year, Ford is going to great lengths to keep front and rear details of the domestic version secret while the cars undergo their final validation tests. So while the 100 Fiestas currently taking part in Ford's Fiesta Movement program gives us a good idea of its overall silhouette, especially the four-door sedan version, we'll still be seeking out the detail differences between the European and US versions. Yesterday, on his return trip from Las Vegas, Mark Fletcher hit pay dirt again as he was able to capture some exceptionally clear images of Ford's upcoming B-segment subcompact.

These are great pictures! But to clarify, that is the US SEDAN, not the US hatchback, and the US will be getting 1 of each :)

Awesome work! This is the most revealing pic of the US-spec Fiesta yet. I think this version is a sedan, though, not a hatchback.

Is the driving giving the finger in the side view picture?

Here is a very quick and dirty impression of what I think the car will look like:

Marc, great PhotoChop. Do you have that image available 1024 pixels wide? If so, I'd like to add it to the blog here. Can you contact me via Twitter so we can exchange E-mail addresses. I am "AutoTraveler" on Twitter.

As you can see, my IT guy changed all the hatchback references to sedan in the blog.

Thanks,

Rich Truesdell

Good catch Mark and Mike. I edited the images and story late in the evening and meant to write sedan, not hatchback, compounding my mistake in the title as well. Hatchback or sedan, the Fiesta is certain to be a huge success for Ford who is clearly on a roll at this point.

I must be the last person on the planet not to Twitter (hmm... along with Conan O'Brien, apparently)

Here's another take on the picture, this time I took the European car that I used as the base and grafted on some US bits.

I do not believe the headlights will have the stylized tip on them like you guys are showing. They probably dumbed down the aggressive euro stance like they do all the time. Otherwise you would see a faint glow under the mask.

When I look closely at the grill...which the Fiesta doesn't/shouldn't have, I feel as though we are actually looking at the new Focus, not Fiesta. The Fiesta should only have one slit above the bumper, with the Ford oval logo postioned just inside. If you look at UK Spec Focus' you will see that this car more resembles that, not the Fiesta. I could be totally wrong, but I hope not, I don't like this front end anywhere near what I've seen of other Fiestas.
