What's behind me IS important.
I must admit that I’ve been a bit slow to catch on to the whole blog thing. First off is the way that most are set up, using just about half of the width of the screen, not taking advantage of all the available real estate. I hate wasting available real estate…it makes me crazy.

550 Miles: Long Beach, California, to Beaver, Utah
The day started pretty much like any other for me...wake up before 5 am, check the e-mails, and start to pull the day's activities together but today was different, very different. There was an undeniable sense of excitement given that today, after waiting nearly two and a half years, I would finally be getting the keys to a brand-new 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8. And not only that, I would be driving it from Southern California to Denver for the start of another one of my dream drives, following the route of James "Jimmy" Kowalski in the epic 1971 cult classic "Vanishing Point." If there's ever a Dodge-themed "gotta do" road trip, this has to be every Moparaholic's automotive wet dream.

It seems that all of the major automotive-focused blogs seem to be highlighting unusual cars on eBay and Craigslist that have caught the eyes of their editors and contributors. Thomas Kohnstamm's New Book Do Travel Writers Go to Hell? A Swashbuckling Tale of High Adventure
On April 22 a self-admitted, self-promoting fraud will be published when Thomas Kohnstamm's new book is planned for release; Do Travel Writers Go to Hell? A Swashbuckling Tale of High Adventure. In it, Mr. Kohnstamm, a Lonely Planet author admits that he literally phoned it in on several books he contributed to the series. Needless to say, this is not sitting well in travel writer circles or with management at Lonely Planet.

The smell of unburnt hydrocarbon permeates the early morning mist well before sunrise as Southern California's car cognoscenti gather in a parking lot in Irvine, just off of Interstate 5. The event is Cars + Coffee, an informal, loosely organized gathering of vintage, classic, muscle, tuner, and exotic cars that might be unrivaled anywhere in the world.
The reason is simple; Southern California -- Orange County in particular -- is the epicenter of car culture and that, combined with the overall affluence of its inhabitants, as well as exceptional weather year-round, almost ensures that each Saturday morning at Cars + Coffee will be better than the last.
