Automotive Traveler Magazine: 2012 08 2012 Concours D Elegance Of America Page 2

Splendid weather and 300 world-class automobiles made for another successful Concours d' Elegance of America at the picturesque Inn of St. Johns in Plymouth, Michigan the last Sunday in July. After the event's 32-year run at Meadow Brook Hall in Rochester, organizers worked tirelessly to provide attendees with an exceptional show their second year at the new location. The backdrop for this automotive showcase of the year comprised the 200 lush, tree-lined acres of the Inn's 27-hole golf course. (It also hosts an auction event conducted by RM.)

Unlike other Concours events, the Concours d' Elegance of America is dedicated to the "Genius of the Automobile"--a celebration of exotic, beautiful, and historically significant automobiles and the people who created the innovations, designs, and technologies that so influenced the world. The 2012 Concours featured Duesenbergs, Pierce-Arrows, Trans-Am Racers, Slingshot Dragsters, Supercars, and a very special group of Jet Age station wagons that were real crowd pleasers.
